A Veteran Job Fair will be held May 1 at the Tuality Healthcare center in Hillsboro, with about 40 employers and 20 veteran resources. Hundreds of veterans are expected to attend, participating in workshops, breakout sessions and interviews that provide an opportunity for them and their families. Veteran representatives from WorkSource Oregon will attend and workshops will include career-related subjects such as resume writing, interviewing skills, dressing for success and professionalism.

An historic event returns to Eugene April 25 with the 34th annual Take Back the Night 2013, a free, public event seeking an end to sexual violence in the community. Anthony Hornof, an associate professor in Computer and Information Science, has been selected for a supervisory position with the National Science Foundation.Hornof will serve as a program director in NSF's Division of Information and Intelligent Systems. Core programs include human-centered computing, information integration and informatics, and robust intelligence.
