Parking

The UO is not able to issue free parking passes for reserved spaces on campus. Almost all parking requires some type of payment or permit. Visit the Transportation Services website for information on hourly parking.

Special arrangements for large media vehicles may be made in advance by submitting a request using our media relations request form.

Credentials and Special Events

In general, credentials are not required for non-athletics events. For events of high interest or limited capacity, the Media Relations team will inform news organizations in advance if credentials are required. Occasionally, reporters and photographers may be asked to show identification from their news organization, especially at special events and to access media areas at commencement and convocation ceremonies.

Drones

Anyone wishing to operate Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), also known as drones, on University of Oregon property, or at a UO-sponsored event is required to obtain drone approval from Safety and Risk Services at least 14 days prior to operation, and submit a completed UAS Request Form.

Wi-Fi

The University of Oregon has an extensive wireless network that provides service throughout the campus and at a number of off-campus locations. Guests visiting the University of Oregon can gain access to UO's wireless network and the internet by using the university's Self Service Wireless to register for an account and connect to the UO Guest wireless network. Guests accounts will grant users seven days of access. Please see the UO IT Wireless Network Guest Access Process page for additional information or if you experience any issues connecting to our network.

Please note that guests with self-registered accounts will not be able to access wireless at UO sports venues (Autzen Stadium, PK Park, Matthew Knight Arena, and Hayward Field) and users will need to get a PIN from an authorized athletics staff member. When at the athletic venue, guests will use the "UO Guest-Athletics" wireless network.

Public Records Requests

The Office of Public Records responds to requests from media and members of the public for university records. For information or to submit a records request, visit the Office of Public Records website.

Confirmation of Status for Students and Alumni

The News and Content staff can confirm if specific individuals are currently enrolled, if they earned a degree, their area of study and the year it was conferred. It is helpful to have a birth date or another method to help identify the person. To avoid an incorrect report, please be sure you have the correct spelling of names.
