Human Resources is introducing a new technology resource that will streamline and automate talent management at the UO, with an initial campus workshop scheduled next week.

HR staff will lead a team of campus partners along with representatives from vendor PageUp People to begin configuring the online platform.

Anticipated benefits of the new system include an improved experience for job candidates when searching and applying for positions. As recruitment activities shift from a paper-based approach to the new tool, hiring authorities and search committees will see faster turnaround time and access to just-in-time information.

Other features are expected to simplify the setup of new employees and allow current employees and supervisors to plan and track development activities. Dashboards and robust reporting capability will assist with decision-making, as well as supporting compliance with university policies and legal requirements.

Project leader Nancy Nieraeth, director of talent acquisition and development, said, “The new system represents a significant step forward in the university’s ability to attract, hire, and develop great talent while also increasing efficiency and delivering information needed for workforce planning.”

The system is expected to be operational for the campus community by spring 2017.    

A talent management system is a suite of software applications that ease applicant tracking, onboarding, contracting, position descriptions, performance management and learning and development.

Many people were involved over the past year in evaluating options and selecting PageUp People, a best-in-class solution.

With 15 years of experience in global higher education, PageUp People uses the latest technology, including mobile-device development and integration with job boards and social media.
