We reinvent, and refresh. When campus comes alive again in January, the UO’s homepage will have metamorphosed into a visual reflection of a new era in the university’s history.
The University of Oregon has spent a great deal of work on introspection, leading to a new mission statement, a clear identity. Updating the design and functionality of the website will come in step with the overall renewal and forward trajectory of the UO. Parallel with the promotion of new faculty hires in clusters of excellence and the launch of the ambitious fundraising campaign, the new design will mirror the excitement of the things to come.
Beyond esthetic appeal, users will find increased functionality through a responsive design that will recognize mobile devices in addition to desktop computers. Users will find tailored experiences through drop-down menus designed for specific groups such as current students, faculty or alumni that will display the most pertinent links for their needs
The new homepage is being refocused to meet the needs of prospective undergraduates and their parents; however, links to popular tools for the diverse UO community will continue to be available. Rather than above the primary navigation bar at the top of the page, links to existing items such as campus maps, class schedules, webmail and blackboard will be found in the footer at the bottom of the page.
