The University of Oregon will host College GameDay, a premiere college football show, for a broadcast on Saturday, Oct. 12. ESPN has leased the Memorial Quad on the Eugene campus for its filming location.
Setup begins Wednesday, Oct. 9. Activity will be noticeable on the Memorial Quad and the surrounding areas as the equipment is unloaded and the television set is assembled. Operational departments are engaged in planning. Employees working and students attending classes in Eugene are advised to plan their routes across campus accordingly.
College GameDay at the UO will be filmed from 6 to 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. It is free to attend, and participants are asked to adhere to signage and directions from representatives at the event. Those looking for parking should consider Lot 6A and along University Street.
The show averages 2.5 million viewers weekly. It is an opportunity to showcase the university’s excellence and share the UO brand nationwide as the Ducks host the Ohio State Buckeyes. The football game begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Autzen Stadium.
The set will be dismantled and removed immediately following the conclusion of the show. The Memorial Quad and surrounding area are expected to return to normal by Monday.
