UO recruiter to compete in pageant to help homeless vets

Joelle Goodwin, an Army veteran and admissions officer at the UO, will compete this weekend in the Ms. Veteran America pageant to help raise money for homeless women veterans.

Goodwin is one of 25 finalists from across the country competing in the pageant, which will be held Sunday, Oct. 12, in Leesburg, Va. The event is part of the Final Salute program, which helps the estimated 55,000 homeless female veterans.

All entrants in the pageant have raised money to support the program. Goodwin continues to raise funds through Crowdwise, an online fundraising site. Donations can be made here.
