Excellence Award for Outstanding Graduate Mentorship

A faculty member who provide outstanding mentorship of graduate students and fostering the academic and professional excellence of students.

Faculty, staff, and students can nominate

A $2000 research/travel award in their name granted to a graduate student(s), a plaque, and ceremonial recognition.

Excellence Award for Directors of Graduate Studies

Directors of Graduate Study who lead the creation of graduate learning environments that are rigorous, inclusive, and support students professional development and excellence.

Outstanding Career Award

Tenured faculty with a track record of distinguished scholarship and external recognition and support of such efforts, and national/international prominence in their field of research.

Anyone can nominate a tenured faculty at the associate or full professor rank, employed at UO 7+ years.

$1,000 or $2,500 for a team in research support, a recognition memento, and a highlight of their work.

Early Career Award

Tenure-track assistant professor of a track record of significant scholarship and emergent recognition and support of such efforts, and a productive and impactful scholarly record.

Anyone can nominate a tenure-track assistant professor, appointed for 3+ at UO.

$1,000 or $2,500 for a team in research support, a recognition memento, and a highlight of their work.

Career Research Faculty Award

Full-time, research career faculty with a track record of research independence, and have a substantial and impactful scholarly record OR they must have documented record of providing exceptional and innovative technical support to UO researchers.

Anyone can nominate a tenure-track assistant professor, appointed for 3+ years at UO.

$1,000 or $2,500 for a team in research support, a recognition memento, and a highlight of their work.

Innovation and Impact Award

An outstanding individual or team that distinguished themselves and the university through entrepreneurial activities that resulted in innovations with a measurable societal or environmental impact and/or individuals whose broader public engagement activity has proactively shared their research or viewpoints on research and policy issues with the public via traditional and/or new media channels.

Anyone can nominate faculty and staff from all disciplines.

$1,000 or $2,500 for a team in research support, a recognition memento, and a highlight of their work.

Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Research Award

Tenure or non-tenure track faculty or administrative staff, an individual or team, that has demonstrated leadership, impact, and advocacy to contribute to a more diverse and inclusive environment. This may be achieved through efforts to broaden participation in research, engage underrepresented communities as research partners, or develop and implement novel programming or innovations to improve the culture of our research and innovation climate. 

Anyone can nominate tenure or non-tenure track faculty or administrative staff in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the research and innovation community. 

$1,000 or $2,500 for a team in research support, a recognition memento, and a highlight of their work.

UO Senate Award for Shared Governance Transparency and Trust

Award is given to the person who has best exemplified the principles of shared governance, transparency, and trust during the past year.

Anyone can nominate an administrator or other member of the UO community.

Wayne T Wrestling Award

Exemplary service over a period of years to the university through participation in university committees, advisory bodies, or faculty elective positions, and inspired leadership and commitment to the principles of shared governance, participatory decision-making, and fostering a campus climate of inclusiveness and respect.

Career Research Faculty Award

Classified Staff Leadership Award

Recognize an individual who is a leader in one or more of these areas – personal and professional development, a respectful work environment, or diversity. Must be a “change agent” who has made “a difference through their actions and through collaborative relationships.”

Officers of administration and classified employees who embody the mission of the university, produce quality work, and consistently display characteristics valued and appreciated by coworkers. They are a reliable compass continually pointing the university in the direction of its goals and aspirations.

Anyone can nominate an Officer of Administration or a Classified Employee.
