University of Oregon faculty, staff and students are invited to bring their families and be part of the fun on Saturday, Aug. 24, when the UO participates in the Eugene Celebration parade.
The university's parade entry will consist of members of the UO community and their family members of all ages.
Those who want to help represent the UO in this year's parade should contact Karen Hyatt (6-5351, khyatt@uoregon.edu) before Friday, Aug. 16, with the names of children and adults who will be participating, and an email address and phone number. Participation will be limited, and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants may walk or bring bicycles, tricycles, scooters, skateboards or any other self-propelled vehicle – so long as it can be safely maneuvered at a slow pace on the one-mile parade route. Some walking participants may volunteer to carry UO-themed signs and banners.
Those who want to be a part of the UO parade entry must be available from about 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 24. Everyone participating in the parade will wear – and get to keep – a special UO/Eugene Celebration t-shirt.
