Some sidewalks around portions of the Erb Memorial Union will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, Dec. 14, as work on the expansion and renovation of the building continues.

The closures include the sidewalk between the EMU and Carson Hall, where work on a storm drain line will take place. The sidewalk on the north side of the EMU along East 13th Avenue also will be closed while major utility lines are relocated.

The work along East 13th will require changes in bicycle and vehicle traffic as well as foot traffic. The street will be reduced to a single lane from Carson Hall to Volcanology and flaggers will direct traffic through the area.

Parking spaces on the north side of East 13th also will be closed. The changes will be in place through winter term.
