Faculty, staff and students who are new to the University of Oregon should plan ahead if they don’t yet have an official UO ID card. Due to a scheduled system upgrade, ID card production will be unavailable Sept. 18–20.

While ID cards must be picked up in person from the card office, the initial request can be made either in person or online. For those who won’t be arriving on campus before the shutdown, Tamarra White, card office and guest services manager, encourages the use of the “selfie submission form” to submit a photo online.

The production timeline is as follows:

• Photos submitted prior to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, will be processed and ID cards can be picked up on Sept. 18.
• Photos submitted after 4 p.m. on Sept. 15 will be processed after the system upgrade is complete, and ID cards can be picked up Thursday, Sept. 21.

New students who did not get ID cards during summer IntroDUCKtion orientation are especially urged to use the online method.

“As long as they submit a photo by Sept. 15, their ID card will be printed and available to pick up when they arrive on campus,” White said.

Those who choose not to upload a photo can go to the card office Sept. 21 to request their card and have their photo taken.

During the production shut-down, the card office will remain open for all other key and building access services. Hours are 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Tuesday–Friday. The card office is located on the ground floor of the Erb Memorial Union.
