MBA students from the United States, Hong Kong, Thailand and India are in Portland to compete for $25,000 in new venture funding this weekend.
The Lundquist College of Business’ Oregon New Venture Championship is in its 23rd year of helping graduate students make their business plans a reality.
The 16 teams will compete in six rounds and receive feedback from judges. The event included 60-second elevator pitches and a trade show at the UO Portland’s White Stag Block and at the Embassy Suites in Portland.
Joe Smith, KGW business reporter, talked to student competitors and Kees de Kluyver, LCB dean. His report, “UO Offers $25K Venture Cash in Student Contest,” aired on the NBC affiliate Thursday evening.
