A flock of about 3,000 new Ducks descended on campus Thursday for the organized chaos known as Move-In Day.
New students and their families moved into residence halls with the help of Unpack the Quack volunteers. Students, staff and faculty lent their hands and backs to help get boxes, suitcases, mini fridges, and other essentials moved into the halls.
Cloudy skies greeted the new students, but the rain held off.
Move-In Day marks the start of a busy few days for new students intended to help them make the transition to campus life. Known as Week of Welcome, events include Duck N2 the Rec, the We Are Oregon Pep Rally, the Flock Party, Saturday of Service, a football watch party and convocation.
Fall term begins Monday.
