The University of Oregon’s White Box gallery in Portland is featuring an integrative installation featuring animation and paintings by Shelley Jordon and music by Kurt Rohde.
“(Lost) In the Woods” features animation and music based on the perspective of emotions, physiological and metaphorical viewpoints of being lost in the woods. The exhibit runs through Dec. 6, and viewing hours are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
“The exhibit is highly digital, interactive, and when you walk into the different galleries, it triggers certain animation,” said Sara Huston, White Box manager.
When visitors enter galleries, sensor triggers animation. Each installation is process oriented and is intended to be a different experience for individual visitors.
“Four or five projectors will illuminate the room, but it will be completely dark when you walk in and certain animations will be triggered as you walk through the room.”
The Grey Box, a multimedia immersive video projection room, will have four walls completely covered with the project.
The gallery is located at 24 NW First Ave. in downtown Portland.
