UO researchers and scholars were recently featured in stories about Tom Brady’s longevity in the NFL, Trump’s travel ban, the Supreme Court nominee, different kinds of journalists and the survival of small newspapers.
Reuters turned to the UO’s Bowerman Sports Science Clinic for expertise on how long quarterback Tom Brady may be able to play in the NFL. Clinic director Mike Hahn and doctoral student Jake Hinkel-Lipsker were both quoted in “Brady good for several more seasons, say science experts.”
The story was picked up by dozens of other outlets around the country.
Here are some other places where UO researchers were mentioned in the media:
- Research by UO psychologist Paul Slovic was cited in the Yahoo! News story “Six people who were trapped by Trump’s travel ban.”
- Alison Gash, a political science professor, spoke with Jefferson Public Radio about President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.
- Nicole Smith Dahmen, an assistant professor of journalism wrote an article for the Columbia Journalism Review. The piece focused on new kinds of emerging journalistic ideology.
- UO journalism professor Damian Radcliffe co-authored a piece for the Nieman Lab titled, “If small newspapers are going to survive, they’ll have to be more than passive observers to the news.”
