A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, on the UO campus for Susan Hardwick, professor emerita of geography, who died last week at the age of 70.
The service will begin at 4 p.m. in Room 182 Lillis Hall. Following the service, Condon Hall will be open until 8 p.m. for those who wish to visit the Department of Geography.
Hardwick died Nov. 11 after a brief illness. She joined the UO geography department in 2000 and retired in 2010, but she remained an active member of the faculty.
Over a long career, Hardwick earned many awards for teaching, research and service. Her enthusiasm and tireless work on behalf of students and the geography community made her a sought-after and admired teacher and colleague.
