Saturday's summer commencement marks a life-changing transition for the more than 1,110 eligible degree candidates as they move from student to alumni status.
Students, along with their friends and family, will gather on the Memorial Quadrangle between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to celebrate their accomplishments as interim UO President Scott Coltrane presides over the Aug. 16 event.
Anne Marie Levis, president and creative director of Funk/Levis & Associates and UO alum, will speak to the graduates during the outdoor ceremony on the lawn between the Knight Library and the Lillis Business Complex.
The 2014 summer term includes 1,117 eligible degree candidates who will receive a total of 1,169 degrees and certificates, including 805 bachelor’s degrees, 262 master’s degrees, 51 doctoral degrees, 37 certificates, 10 undergraduate certificates and four first professional degrees.
