New Ducks Dine On program offers UO employees discounted meals

All University of Oregon faculty and staff qualify for discounted meals at University Housing dining facilities through the new Ducks Dine On program. Anyone with a UO ID card will be able to purchase a meal plan that is valid at all nine dining venues.

Four package options are available, ranging from a 10-meal plan for $65 to a 100-meal plan for $600. The larger the meal plan, the greater the discount. Employees who purchase the 100-meal plan will also receive a “Golden Mug” that allows unlimited refills of any soda, tea or brewed coffee.

“This new meal plan is of tremendous value for UO employees looking to save money while having the convenience of dining on campus,” said Lauren Miller, marketing and communications director for UO housing. “And if you drink coffee, tea or soda, then The Golden Mug is perfect for you."

The average cost of a meal paid in cash at UO Housing dining areas is $8 to $9. In comparison, depending on package size, Ducks Dine On will cost about $6 to 6.50 per meal. Employees can save anywhere from $20 to $250 on meals by taking part in the new program.

An all-you-care-to-eat meal in the Carson or Barnhart dining facilities constitute one meal on a prepaid card. One meal on the card is good for as many as 5 points at any other dining location.

Ducks Dine On plans are valid during the entire academic year in which they are purchased. This year's cards will expire June 30, 2014.

To purchase a new meal plan, complete the online application or visit the University Housing office to submit a payment - Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Additional meals can be added at any time during the 2013-14 academic year.
