When you’re a student at the University of Oregon, you have questions.
How do I declare a major? Where do I find my GPA? How can I get involved in research as an undergrad? How can I find a job or internship?
A new webpage called One Stop Student Resources provides quick links to help answer these and other questions that arise from the moment students step on to campus as freshmen to when they receive their degree.
A link to One Stop can found on the top right of the UO homepage.
“One Stop is a repository of information that will help students navigate the University of Oregon, which can be difficult for them at times,” said Doneka Scott, associate vice provost for student success. “It’s a perfect opportunity for the UO to increase access to support services in one location for our students.”
One Stop will help incoming students transition to the UO and navigate systems such as financial aid and billing. The page is also a relevant resource at any point in a student’s academic career, with links to information such as academic resources, advising resources, housing information, wellness and safety, campus life, and career advice.
The page can also be used by faculty members “not only to direct students for additional support, but also to become more informed about our campus resources,” she said.
When Scott arrived on campus, she noticed there wasn’t a centralized physical or web-based location with resources for students, so she made it a priority to create a web-based one.
“This was a major priority for our student success efforts,” she said. “My job is to remove institutional barriers that inhibit students from completing their degrees in timely fashion. Not having a mechanism for students to find resources on campus was one such barrier.”
She described a collaborative process involving the Division of Undergraduate Studies, University Communications, the Division of Student Life, Student Services and Enrollment Management, the Division of Equity and Inclusion and other units working to ensure that the One Stop content is comprehensive and relevant.
One Stop will be fully implemented in phases. The One Stop team welcomes feedback and suggestions for additional resources to be included on One Stop Student Resources page. Emails may be sent to OneStop@uoregon.edu.
