The categories have been announced for six faculty research awards to be presented this spring by the UO Office for Research and Innovation.

The awards are intended to raise the visibility of the outstanding research activities at the UO. 

This year, two tenured faculty members at the rank of associate or full professor will be chosen for the Outstanding Career Award. A single Early Career Award will recognize a tenure-track faculty member at the assistant professor rank.

Two Outstanding Accomplishment Awards will be given to career non-tenure-track faculty — one to someone engaged in independent research activities and the second to someone engaged in technical activities in support of research. The final recognition will be the Innovation and Impact Award for an individual or team for outstanding entrepreneurial activity. 

Awardees receive recognition and financial support for their research. Outstanding Career Award recipients will give a presidential lecture on campus in the year following the award to share their work with campus colleagues.
