Campus Planning will hold an open house to share information and receive feedback regarding the proposed Campus Plan amendment to incorporate the North Campus area.
The event will be held Monday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby of the Erb Memorial Union.
After completing the North Campus Conditional Use Permit Project in 2018 and further analysis work to inform future planning, the university is moving forward with its standard amendment process to incorporate the university’s land north of Franklin Boulevard into the Campus Plan. The amendment to the plan will guide future campus development and connect people to the Willamette River, consistent with the new conditional use permit for the North Campus area.
The Campus Plan guides all campus development by establishing the principles and patterns to ensure that physical changes to campus will lead the university towards a unified and successful campus design that supports its mission of teaching, discovery and service.
The open house is anticipated to be the first of several engagement opportunities for the campus community and will focus on an overview of the amendment process, the history and background of the North Campus area, and the preliminary work to refine opportunities identified in past studies related to campus open space and future development.
