The University of Oregon mourns the loss of Amy Frohnmayer Winn, who died early Sunday morning at the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
The daughter of Lynn Frohnmayer and the late Dave Frohnmayer, UO president emeritus, Winn suffered from a rare genetic disorder, Fanconi anemia, which caused the deaths of her two older sisters: Katie at age 12 in 1991 and Kirsten at 24 in 1997. Winn was 29.
Articles were posted to the website of the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, where Winn was a board member, and The Register-Guard and The Oregonian.
She is survived by her husband Alex Winn of Bend, her mother and her two brothers, Mark and Jonathan.
