With the start of the new year and tax season approaching, university employees are asked to review contact information on record with human resources and the payroll office.
Employee information — including pay, tax information and leave balances — is reviewable in DuckWeb under the employee Information tab. It is important university employees keep their contact information up to date, especially as the mailing address on record is used for required tax filings such as the federal W-2 form.
Other information, such as emergency contacts, is used throughout the year. The emergency contact on record provides a reliable personal contact in the event that an employee requires emergency medical care while on the job.
Current and accurate emergency contact information allows authorized personnel to reach out quickly to an employee’s family member or friend. Emergency contacts can be reviewed and updated on the personal Information tab in DuckWeb.
Save a tree this year by not receiving a paper W-2. Employees can consent to have their W-2 delivered electronically in DuckWeb. In order to receive an electronic W-2, sign up by Jan. 10.
To sign up, navigate to DuckWeb’s employee information tab, then select tax information and choose the electronic regulatory consent link. Check the My Choice box to consent to receive the W-2 electronically and click submit. A confirmation that the form was submitted correctly will appear toward the top of the page.
Once enrolled, you will continue to receive future W-2s electronically unless you withdraw your consent. The first paperless W-2 recipients will also be entered into a drawing to receive men’s basketball tickets, hats and more.
If you do not consent to receive your W-2 electronically, your paper W-2 will be sent by Jan. 31 to the mailing address on file.
