World-renowned sitar virtuoso Kartik Seshadri will meet with students and perform for the public Oct. 18.
Seshadri heads one of the largest programs of Indian classical music at the University of California, San Diego. On Oct. 18, he will demonstrate his instrument and playing style to students and members of the public at 2 p.m. in the Pape Reception Hall of the University of Oregon Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
That evening, he will perform in a live concert at 7:30 p.m. in Beall Hall.
Numerous musical influences inform Seshadri’s training. He has collaborated with artists including Philip Glass, and has performed extensively in his homeland and around the world in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center.
