A staggered set of signup dates will open Feb. 16 for University of Oregon employees who want renew or purchase parking permits for spring term.
Employees who drive to the Eugene campus can purchase a spring academic term parking permit online. Parking lots are divided into 10 zones by location, and permits are offered at three price points. Permits can be purchased for an academic term or a 30-day duration.
Current winter permit holders can renew starting Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. During a “swap week” starting Feb. 23, existing term permit holders who have not renewed their permit have the option to purchase a permit for any available parking zone. Sales to employees who currently do not hold a permit start March 2.
Spring term permits become active March 23. Payroll deduction will be available until March 9 at 10 a.m.
Transportation Services encourages employees to consider free options of getting to campus if possible. Options include using Lane Transit District buses, or walking or riding a bicycle or scooter as the weather improves. Bike registration is free and strongly encouraged. LTD Park and Ride is a great way to save money on a UO parking permit; park for free and hop on the bus to work. Another way drivers can save on vehicle wear and tear is carpool or vanpool. Any commuter zone permit may be shared between multiple individuals as long as only one vehicle is parked on campus each day. To find a carpool, UO employees can use Get There Oregon to connect with other UO employees as well as earn commute rewards.
To remove barriers to not having a car on campus, the UO offers an emergency ride home program in the event of a qualifying emergency. Another option is Duck Rides, a free transportation service operating from 6 p.m. to midnight while classes are in session.
