“Transatlanticism” continues through Feb. 9 at UO Schnitzer museum

An exhibit focusing on Iberian and Latin American studies continues through next February at the University of Oregon Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.

“Transatlanticism,” and the courses and symposium it supports, features works by modern and contemporary masters including Roberto Matta (Chilean, 1911-2002), Joan Miró (Spanish, 1893-1983), Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973), and Rufino Tamayo (Mexican, 1899-1991), among others.

The exhibit accompanies a symposium on transatlantic studies, a new academic discipline that explores the artistic, cultural, political and social links between countries on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
