The University of Oregon’s Department of Human Physiology will host a seminar on this Friday, Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. featuring Eric Stice of the Oregon Research Institute.

The lecture, “Reward region responsivity and reward learning propensity increase risk for future weight gain,” is part of the department’s ongoing lecture series. It will be held in room 132 of Lillis Business Complex, and is free and open to the public.

Stice received his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Oregon in 1989, and earned his master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from Arizona State University.

He is currently a senior researcher at the Oregon Research Institute.

Stice has conducted numerous studies and trials about the human body and the way it functions. He has researched eating pathology, body mass, depression, eating disorders and obesity, as well as brain imaging, genotypes and their interactions.

The Human Physiology department hosts two seminars per month with lectures from various researchers, professors and doctors.
