University of Oregon employees who plan to participate in the State of Oregon Employees’ Charitable Fund Drive should submit their pledges by Dec. 31.
The Charitable Fund Drive, which began in 1989, is an annual charitable giving campaign for state of Oregon employees. It consolidates charitable solicitation into an annual campaign and allows online submission of pledges and optional payroll deductions for contributions.
Participants are able to choose which charities their donations will serve.
Among state agencies, the UO has traditionally been the campaign’s top contributor. UO employees often not only lead all OUS campuses on total and per capita giving, but also top all statewide agencies in the amount raised.
Donations to the fund drive provide a stable source of funding for more than 800 nonprofit organizations that benefit the arts, children, the environment, health, housing, human services, social justice and other causes.
Nonprofit agencies that receive funding have included United Way, the Black United Fund, Children’s Trust Fund, Community Health Charities, Earth Share, Equity Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the McKenzie River Gathering Foundation and Work for Art.
UO employees who take part in the effort can go to the state of Oregon’s Charitable Fund Drive, click on “PLEDGE NOW – University Employees” and login with an employee ID number as user name and a first name and last name – all capitals, with no spaces between – as a password.
