Transfer students planning to attend the University of Oregon this fall have a little more breathing room when it comes to applying after the UO extended its transfer application deadline to June 30.
The change gives transferring students another six weeks to complete their applications. The decision stems from a desire to accommodate transfer students’ spring term academic schedules and let them include final transcripts in their UO applications.
“We’ve heard from many of our constituents that our original deadline caused some anxiety for potential transfer student applicants,” said Roger Thompson, vice president for student services and enrollment management. “We want to ensure that potential transfer applicants have that extra time to finish their classes and submit their final transcripts to complete their applications.”
The deadline extension will give students who hadn’t considered transferring to the UO extra time to give it some thought, especially those who have just completed an associate’s degree and are looking to get a bachelor’s. Additionally, the extra time helps students still working on their UO applications who might have been worried they had already missed the deadline to complete them.
