UO Health Center offers Tdap immunizations with flu shots

Starting today – Oct. 2 – the University Health Center offers flu and Tdap immunizations to UO faculty and staff as part of Lane County Public Health’s push to immunize the public against pertussis or whooping cough.

Throughout the month, the center reserves time for faculty and staff to get vaccinated quickly. The hours are 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through Nov. 1 in the Nurse Specialty Clinic at the center, 13th and Agate streets.

From Nov. 4 through April 30 of next year, faculty and staff can receive shots during regular hours for immunizations (9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.). During those hours, there may be delays because care of students takes priority.

Faculty and staff must bring a UO ID card and Providence PEBB insurance card or cash or check, if you do not have Providence PEBB insurance.

The center cannot immunize dependents or spouses, partners or UO retirees. The center is not a Medicare provider and is unable to care for or immunize anyone who has MEDICARE Part B, even if this is not primary insurance.

For faculty and staff who do not have Providence/PEBB, the charge for influenza vaccine is $27 and Tdap, $80, payable by cash or check (no credit or debit cards). The center will provide an itemized statement for billing an insurance company.
