The university will conduct another round of website maintenance Tuesday, May 16.
The UO homepage, and almost 150 other UO websites will be unavailable briefly that morning due to routine maintenance.
Between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., Information Services — the UO's central IT department — will be taking each of the websites offline for about 30 minutes. A maintenance page will display while each website is unavailable.
Specifically, the homepage will be unavailable from about 5 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Work will then proceed to the other websites.
This work does not affect all UO websites. In addition to the homepage, affected websites include admissions, human resources and many others, including Around the O.
Starting this year, Information Services plans to perform routine web maintenance like this a few times a year.
"For security and functionality, it's important to keep the technology supporting these services up to date," said Patrick Chinn, of Information Services.
The May 16 maintenance is unrelated to the larger web upgrade that occurred in March.
