Belief in God isn’t the only way to be good. That’s one of the findings by UO psychology professor Azim Shariff cited in an Aug. 10 story on National Public Radio.
In “Would Voters Entrust The White House To An Atheist?” writer Tania Lombrozo references Shariff’s work on morality and belief. The story also features a video of Shariff discussing the psychological and social consequences of religious belief and disbelief. The video was shot at a workshop in April.
Shariff’s work explores how religion encourages generosity, honesty and prejudice. He is the director of the Culture and Morality Lab.
