The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art on the University of Oregon campus will offer free admission during the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend from from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 1.

The museum, located at 1430 Johnson Lane, will close early on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 5 p.m. Free parking for guests is available behind the museum.

An array of exhibits will be on display Thanksgiving weekend, including “National Geographic Greatest Photographs of the American West,” which portrays faces, the cowboy life, and changing uses of the land, and “Korda and the Revolutionary Image,” an exhibit by Cuban photographer Alberto Korda.

Additionally, “Art of Traditional Japanese Theater,” which highlights fourteenth-century Noh theater, is on display in the Preble/Murphy Gallery of Japanese Art..

“Ave Maria: Marian Devotional Works from Easter and Western Christendom,” in the McKenzie Gallery, explores the iconography of the Virgin Mary since the late Middle Ages, throughout the Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Yugoslavia and Greece.

In the MacKinnon Gallery, “Transatlanticism” supports Iberian and Latin American Transatlantic Studies.

The Museum Store and Marché Museum Café will also be open during the holiday weekend.
