U.S. News & World Report has released rankings for 2019, and several key programs at the UO find themselves listed alongside the best in the nation.

The College of Education ranks No. 13 overall in education graduate programs, up from No. 14 and fifth among public institutions. The School of Law moves up a slot to 85 from 86 among its peers. At the same time, six programs in the College of Arts and Sciences find themselves ranked across a variety of disciplines.

“The University of Oregon is dedicated to graduate education and these rankings are a fantastic way to earn the interest of students from around the world,” said Jayanth Banavar, provost and senior vice president. “While U.S. News & World Report is just one measure of quality, it is certainly a high-profile one and we are proud that they recognize excellence at our university.”

The College of Education’s special education program earned a third-place slot again this year, while several programs in the School of Law earned high rankings, including legal research and writing at No. 3, dispute resolution at No. 8 and environmental law at No. 11.

“We’re very happy to receive this widespread positive publicity for the University of Oregon Graduate School, garnered by graduate programs that earn top marks using U.S. News & World Report’s metrics,” said Sara Hodges, interim dean of UO’s Graduate School.
