Audrey Lucero is an academic expert in oral language development and how it impacts literacy achievement among Spanish-English emergent bilingual children. Audrey is interested in elementary dual-language immersion programs as venues to facilitate bilingualism and biliteracy. She can talk about early bilingual development and the preparation of public school teachers to teach in linguistically and culturally diverse schools. She can also comment on the increasing diversity in public schools and achievement gaps between white children and children of color (especially Latinos).
