Dean Walton is a biologist and information scientist at the Price Science Commons and Research Library. His primary interest is the intersection of technology and engineering in science education and research, particularly in areas relating to ecology and spatial data - Think maps. His projects include development of small autonomous rovers and UAV-quadcopters for data collection, environmental sensor systems, 3D holographic models of landscapes, and analysis of satellite imagery and geographic information systems (GIS) for conservation mapping. He is also quite interested in the flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest.
