Faculty bio

Yoav Dubinsky is an academic international expert in sports marketing, the Olympic Movement, country image, sportswashing, place branding and public diplomacy, sports communications, global sports and sports and society. Dubinsky covered or researched hundreds of sports events around the world for over 20 years, including the Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Dubinsky’s research line on sports, nation branding and public diplomacy, focuses mostly on the contexts of international sports, the USA, and Israel and resulted with dozens of peer reviewed manuscripts. His award-winning book “Nation Branding and Sports Diplomacy: Country Image Games in Times of Change” was published in the summer of 2023. He has been involved with the International Olympic Academy since 2009 as a student, coordinator and lecturer, using sports as a tool to connect between diverse international population. He is often interviewed by American and international news outlets, especially around mega events such as the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup and about the geopolitical manifestations in sports.
