Mark Yuran started Oct. 14 as chief human resources officer for the University of Oregon, bringing a progressive approach honed over 20 years within higher education and corporate systems. Yuran, formerly in the same position at Minnesota State University, Moorhead, is a versatile and effective leader with a deep understanding of organizations and operations, said Jamie Moffitt, UO chief financial officer.
More than 500 middle and high school journalists across Oregon have an opportunity to improve their craft during Fall Press Day at the University of Oregon.  The Northwest Scholastic Press Association and the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication invite young journalists to the daylong event, which will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Erb Memorial Union.

An interactive, traveling exhibit designed to raise awareness and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities is being brought to the University of Oregon by the Division of Student Affairs. "Allies for Inclusion: Ability Exhibit" was created at St. Louis University. Those who explore the exhibit will learn about the disability movement, universal design, silent or hidden disabilities and more.
