Legal intern Colleen O'Malley's summer is off to a good start. She recently won her first trial under the supervision of a deputy district attorney for Deschutes County. O’Malley, a student in the University of Oregon School of Law who lives in Eugene, is a certified legal intern with the Deschutes Office of the District Attorney.
University of Oregon School of Law graduate Ian Adams has found his home in public policy. Adams, who recently received his degree from the law school, has won a rare spot as a Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellow for the California State Assembly. Adams, of Sacramento, was selected for one of six spots available to fellows on the Republican side of the assembly. When his role begins in October, he will work with members, meet with constituents and stakeholders and utilize his legal training.
Oregon women's soccer player Kendall Brooke and a group of 19 other Oregon student-athletes worked with the Courts for Kids Program in Casa Blanca, Peru.
For 16 School of Journalism and Communication students, school did not end with their final exams. Two graduate students and 14 undergraduates joined professors Leslie Steeves and Ed Madison for a six-week study abroad program in Ghana.
Associate professor Michelle McKinley has been named the Bernard B. Kliks Professor of Law, University of Oregon School of Law Dean Michael Moffitt announced recently.
