Eric Drexler, a pioneer in the field of molecular nanotechnology, will deliver a public talk at 3 p.m. Nov. 22 at Oregon State University, in an event sponsored by the Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry.
The University of Oregon Suicide Prevention Team and the University Counseling and Testing Center are hosting two suicide prevention trainings for faculty and staff to teach suicide-warning signs and how to steer at-risk students toward professional help. The trainings run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21 and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 9. Registration is available through Suzie Stadelman.

The inaugural O-Corps workshop of the Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network (RAIN) will begin in January 2014 with a series of weekly sessions designed to guide researchers through the process of innovation development. This winter’s program is intended for graduate students and post-doc researchers working in human physiology who are interested in learning more about how research can be moved from the laboratory and into public or commercial use.
Robert Anderson, professor of law and director of the Native American Law Center at the University of Washington, will present "A Problem-Prone Promise: Recurring Issues in Fulfilling the Federal Trust Responsibility to Indian Nations" at the University of Oregon School of Law.
