UO journalism professor finds low engagement on distant problems, but says the columnist's approach is promising.

Tobar has been featured in stories nationwide as his popular book on the ordeal goes into paperback and a movie is set for release in November.

The UO team won for the first time in 27 years, besting more than 200 other college chapters for the title.

Work by students in journalism, architecture and product design will be among the pieces on display.

Several student-produced documentaries will be shown, and speakers will discuss the contributions of Latino immigrants.
