Search for Scholarships

Based on merit, need, or a combination of both, scholarship awards do not need to be repaid after graduation.

Merit-based scholarships are based on prior academic performance. Other criteria may include leadership, activities, personal background, intended major, and career goals.

To be eligible for need-based scholarships at the UO, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA. If the government finds that you have financial need, you may be eligible for some need-based scholarships.

Whatever your situation, scholarships can be vital piece in helping fund your education and scholarly pursuits.

Applying for Scholarships

In addition to scholarships offered by the UO Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, many individual UO schools and departments offer scholarships to students studying a specific major or discipline. There are also awards available related to interdisciplinary interests, or from organizations outside of the UO.

Scholarships are available from many places. While searching for them may take time, it can be well worth the effort.

Donors Make This Possible

Many of our scholarships are made possible by the generous contributions of many donors that believe in student success and access. Their impact and generosity has paved the way for many Ducks to realize a dream. Learn more about donors impact stories.

Estimating and Budgeting

It is important to know how much money a typical student may need for school-related expenses, also referred to as cost of attendance. Compare this amount to your estimated eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid, to begin guiding your financial planning for college.
