Members of the campus community are invited to a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 to learn more about the university’s internal audit process. Employees can also participate in an online survey.
The Office of Internal Audit performs an annual assessment of university operations that assists in developing the audit plan for the coming year. This process, known as a risk assessment, seeks to identify issues that could impact the university’s ability to meet strategic, operational, financial, compliance, or other types of objectives.
“Employees know their own operations better than anyone and may be aware of potential opportunities for improvement. They may also be aware of potential opportunities for improvement in other areas as well, and their input is a valuable resource as this process gets underway,” said Trisha Burnett, chief auditor.
The event will take place Suzanne Schoenfeldt Fields Library in the Ford Alumni Center. In addition to being able to ask questions and get more information, participants will learn more about contributing to the audit plan through the survey.
