The campus community will soon have a chance to meet the top candidates for the next leader of the UO Career Center.
The executive director will provide strategic, data-informed leadership of the university’s career ecosystem, collaboratively partnering with the campuses’ career and advising professionals to provide students with the guidance, resources and opportunities needed to launch and sustain their professional lives. The executive director will work in the soon-to-be completed Willie and Donald Tykeson Hall.
The UO community is invited to hear from the executive director candidates at their public presentations Monday, April 8, 1 to 2 p.m., in the Diamond Lake Room in the Erb Memorial Union; and Friday, April 12, 1 to 2 p.m., in Room 112, Lillis Hall.
Details about candidates will be released in advance of their visits on the student life website. Community members are encouraged to submit feedback on the candidates through online surveys, which will also posted on the website.
The search committee, chaired by Kathie Stanley, associate vice president and chief of staff in the division of student life, includes:
- Carol Stabile, associate dean for strategic initiatives, College of Arts and Sciences.
- David Van Der Haeghen, senior assistant director for recruitment, admissions.
- Gene Rhee, executive director of Mohr Career Services, Lundquist College of Business.
- James Chang, director of the Duck Career Network, UO Alumni Association.
- Kate Werdebaugh, associate and acting director, University Career Center.
- Doneka Scott, vice provost for undergraduate education and student success.
