The UO Libraries’ Digital Scholarship Center is now accepting proposals for its new faculty grants program.
All UO faculty members interested in developing digital projects for research and teaching to be implememnted during the 2018-19 academic year are eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 30.
UO Libraries will work with the award winners to implement the selected digital projects. The Digital Scholarship Center will provide support to grantees in the form of design services, project management, digital collection development, technology support, metadata consultation and more. Digital collections created through this grants program will become a part of the University of Oregon digital library.
Interested faculty members are encouraged to review the criteria for selection of projects and other guidelines. The library particularly encourages projects that leverage UO Libraries’ physical and digital resources and collections, and that address issues related to diversity, inclusion and equity.
Collaborative projects that combine internal and external funding are welcome. No previous experience with digital tools or platforms is required.
Examples of proposals within the scope of the grants program include but are not limited to:
- Projects exploring open models for scholarly publishing, including journals, interactive reading experiences, digital storytelling, and TEI-encoded editions.
- Digital exhibits featuring collections that are already held by the UO, which are instrumental in supporting learning, teaching and research.
- Projects exploring how data from a variety of disciplines can be visualized and mined to answer research questions.
