Faculty interested in funding their research abroad for the 2017-18 academic year have until Aug. 1 to apply for the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.
Each year Fulbright offers more than 500 awards in teaching or research, or a combination of both. Opportunities are available for college and university faculty, administrators, professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers and independent scholars at any level of their career.
“One of the most prestigious grants is the distinguished chair awards, which affords senior scholars opportunities to share their expertise at renowned institutions abroad,” explained Peter VanDerwater, director of outreach for the Fulbright Scholar Program. “There are a growing number of Postdoctoral and Early Career Opportunities, for scholars who have recently completed their doctoral degrees.”
On the Fulbright website, applicants can explore awards by professional profile, discipline or region. Applicants can conduct work in more than 125 countries in six regions around the world.
Interested faculty and professionals are encouraged to learn more about Fulbright U.S. Scholar opportunities by joining My Fulbright, reading recent blog posts or participating in program webinars.
