Officers of administration, or OAs, at the UO will soon be getting personalized information about where their position is placed in the new compensation structure.
This is part of an initiative by Human Resources to implement a plan to keep the UO competitive in the market, attract and retain talent, and appropriately reward top performers.
Before the individual information hits OAs’ email boxes, individuals can learn more about the process online. Human Resources has posted a presentation that explains the entire process of placing each OA position in the finalized OA compensation structure.
Kaia Rogers, director of HR programs and services and project team leader, said the presentation answers common questions such as what information was used to determine which salary band within the structure a position is placed and who reviewed and contributed to placement decisions.
Rogers says each officer of administration will receive an email by the end of July notifying them where their position is placed in the compensation structure, a key step in phase one of the OA compensation project implementation plan.
“We know this is a very important issue to employees, and we want OAs to understand this was a thoughtful and thorough process,” Rogers said. “Officers of administration are strongly encouraged to watch the presentation to familiarize themselves with the position placement process before receiving their individual position placement information at the end of the month.”
Sandee Bybee, HR communications manager, said the department will be communicating regularly with OAs over the new few weeks to share information about the project and keep them informed about progress.
“We know there will be lots of questions about how this information will be used and where we are in the implementation process,” Bybee said. “The OA compensation project webpage will provide regular updates in addition to direct email.”
HR began implementing the OA plan in May when it shared the new compensation structure for OA positions across campus on the HR website and at an OA Council meeting.
