Incoming UO President Michael Schill visited science labs and campus gathering spots and met with alumni, classified employees and scholarship recipients as he paid another visit to campus the week of May 24. Schill is familiarizing himself with the campus and community as he prepares to become the UO’s 18th president on July 1.
Schill received a tour of and met with researchers from the Center for Advanced materials Characterization in Oregon, known as CAMCOR, and the Lokey Laboratories. He also spent time with enrollment management leadership to learn more about campus demographics and the UO’s access programs, such as PathwayOregon, a scholarship and advising program for Pell Grant-eligible students.
As part of his many visits with faculty and staff, Schill met with several leaders of campus employee groups, answered questions at the classified employees biannual meeting and attended the Distinguished Teaching and Research Faculty Excellence Awards ceremony.
