A student group called Community for Minorities in Stem is bringing Lego Grad Student to campus to give a talk titled, “Why Am I Here? A Questionable Talk by Lego Grad Student.”

Lego Grad Student is a social media personality who utilizes Legos and pictures to highlight the struggles of being a graduate student. He describes himself as a “hollow head struggling to make it through a blocky world.”

The talk is 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, in Room 156, Straub Hall. The talk will cover topics like imposter syndrome and the frustrations of research. More information on Lego Grad Student is available online.

The event is free for UO students, and tickets for nonstudents are available online for $10.

While Community for Minorities in Stem is focused on students in the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and math, Lego Grad Student has a broad appeal to students in all disciplines. Lego Grad Student has approximately 43,700 followers on Twitter.

His speaking fee is being covered with the support of the College of Arts and Science, College of Education, Division of Equity and Inclusion and the Graduate School.
