The Museum of Natural and Cultural History has been recognized for its environmentally friendly practices. UO President Michael H. Schill delivered the platinum-level Green Office Certificate on Friday, April 20, to museum employees.

The annual Green Office Certification process through the UO Office of Sustainability helps areas throughout campus adopt best practices and track office sustainability across categories including energy, materials management, purchasing, transportation and events. Offices get certified at bronze, silver, gold or platinum levels. More than 50 offices have been certified since the program started.

“A platinum certificate is like a black belt. We hand deliver them to honor their commitment and discipline,” said Steve Mital, UO sustainability directory. “The Green Office Program is the best way to learn the latest on all the ways Campus Planning and Facilities Management, catering and others can help your office reduce its environmental impact.”
