Faculty, classified staff and officers of administration who are new to the University of Oregon since fall term are invited to visit the New Faculty and Staff Community Orientation and Resource Fair on April 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Erb Memorial Union Ballroom.
The event is hosted by New Employee Orientation Programs in the Office of Human Resources in collaboration with the Office of the Provost. Employees who began at the UO during summer 2023 but were unable to attend the event in September are also welcome. Those who wish to attend should register in MyTrack.
The agenda kicks off with refreshments and the opening of the resource fair at 9 a.m. Information sessions begin at 10 a.m. on topics such as Teams calling, employee benefits, payroll, student care, library services and technology resources. New employees will be able to connect with each other, in addition to meeting university service providers.
"We love this event because it introduces new community members to the benefits UO offers them to support their well-being at work and away from work," said Mark Schmelz, vice president and chief human resources officer. "I think new employees will find useful things there, wherever they are in their life journey."
"This kind of orientation is useful for the practical information but also the reinforcing of community," said Kaia Rogers, chief of staff and senior director of programs and services in Human Resources. "It’s a good reminder to people that UO is a place that supports our employees."
